Today, we are delighted to announce that Scientia (http://www.scientia.com/uk/) -- a worldwide leader in providing timetabling and scheduling solutions to educational institutions -- is making a strategic investment in Clipboard. This new investment from Scientia is Clipboard's largest single investment to date and it will be added to Clipboard's previous funding round (http://www.crunchbase.com/company/clipboard) of $1.5 million. This announcement marks the beginning of a joint product development effort by Clipboard and Scientia that will focus on advancing the state-of-the-art in online collaboration and extending it into the education market. Soon -- through Scientia -- we will be able to bring Clipboard's powerful toolset into educational markets worldwide, making it easier for students and teachers to collaborate on research and coursework from across the web.
Today, we are also excited to publicly share Clipboard's growth and engagement metrics for the first time. Recently, Clipboard surpassed 100,000 registered users, yielding an average month-over-month growth rate of 40 percent for the 15 months since its private beta in October of 2011. Since October 2011, Clipboard has received over 4.2 million page views and Clipboard users have saved more than 1.7 million clips. 20% of all clips have been published, 48% have been tagged, and 67% have been manually annotated (see infographic below). These strong engagement metrics along with positive user feedback has validated that users have a strong need for privately saving and sharing items of interest from across the web with others.
